Do not overcall a suit that you would not want your 
partner to lead.

When trying to determine if you want to make an overcall,
ask yourself if you would want your partner to lead the 
suit in the event that you do not get the contract and 
he is on lead.  If the answer is no, maybe the best thing
to do is not to make the overcall.
