Two clubs is a strong opening and two diamonds is waiting. Two hearts shows a suit and while South may want to show a second negative by bidding three clubs, it is clearly right to show a six card major suit. North now bids his second five card suit and South rebids spades to show a six card suit. North bids clubs again to indicate he has at least five clubs and South raises to the club game. It should be clear to North at this point that while South may not have much in the way of high card strength, his shape should be enough to bring home twelve tricks. To this end he bids six spades, which ends the auction. West leads the ace of diamonds and South is able to ruff, draw trump and claim. Six clubs will make twelve tricks for plus 920 but six spades will make thirteen tricks for plus 1010. _______________________________________________________
